Agnieszka Zoltowski is the designer and maker behind love oru. She was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, an environment that inspires her color palettes and designs. Her parents, who emigrated from Poland, were artists and creative entrepreneurs, and continually fueled her love of art and design from a young age.

Agnieszka worked with Miyuki beads for the first time at age 12. She immediately fell in love with the beautiful colors and perfect shapes that clicked together as she wove each bead. For over three decades she has continued to work with these Japanese glass beads, savoring their colors and tactility and immersing herself in the meditative aspect of weaving on a miniature scale.

In 2007, she moved to Portland, Oregon to develop her metalsmithing skills at the Oregon College of Art and Craft. While she had been designing and selling jewelry as a side hustle throughout her childhood and adult life, she wanted to turn this side-project into a career. For 6 years, Agnieszka worked on love oru full time, learning many lessons along the way. In 2019, she started a second career as an accountant, obtaining her CPA license in 2020. She continues to balance both careers (and both sides of her brain) in harmony and in gratitude.
